Dr. Omar Ahmad
Dr. Omar Ahmad received his medical degree from Dow Medical College at the Unviversity of Karachi in Pakistan and completed an internship in medicine and surgery at the Civil Hospital there. He went on to complete a medical internship and a residency in medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington. His fellowship in hematology and oncology was completed at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis.

Dr. Clyde Smith
Dr. Clyde Smith was one of Jackson's first subspecialists when he started to practice medicine in Jackson in 1979. He is a medical graduate of the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis. His post graduate fellowships also were at UT. He is a board-certified hematologist/hospice/ palliative care physician. Medical director of Hospice of West Tennessee, Dr. Smith is an integral part of the palliative care team at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Dr. Archie Wright
Dr. Wright is a medical graduate of the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. His internal medicine residency and a three-year fellowship in oncology and hematology were at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was chief resident in internal medicine and he is board certified in internal medicine. During his fellowship, Dr. Wright also was a physician in the emergency room at Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Wright and his wife, Tanya, have two children, a daughter, Caitlin, and a son, Aidan.


Dr. Brian Walker
Dr. Walker is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. He received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. The faculty there awarded him the 2006 Spencer L. Schreiter Memorial Fellowship for Excellence in Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Walker is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists, the American Society of Hematology, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
