Ron Weiner, D.O.
The Skyline Cardiovascular Institute, which is owned by Dr. Ronald I. Weiner, a board-certified cardiologist, specializes in comprehensive cardiac care. This includes the diagnosis and management of a variety of heart disorders, including rhythm disturbances, arterial blockages, angina, heart attacks and cardiovascular disease.
The Skyline Cardiovascular Institute offers the services of The Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Clinic, which practices the Bale Method of Heart Attack Prevention and was the first such clinic in the area. The Bale Method goes beyond the current standard of care to identify people at risk for heart attacks and strokes. For example, the Skyline Cardiovascular Institute is one of 15 clinics in the world to offer the newest genetic cardiovascular marker called the “KIF 6” before it is available to the public later in the year.
The Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Clinic also is associated with the 4 My Heart Center, which is run by the Berkeley (California) HeartLab. The prevention clinic will provide counseling in such areas as medication, diet, exercise and stress management.
The Skyline Cardiovascular Institute also will offer pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation and an overnight sleep clinic to diagnose sleep disorders. Onsite services include stress tests, ultrasounds and testing for peripheral vascular disease. An in-house pharmacy will be staffed by a pharmacist, who will offer consultation on medications along with managing a Coumidin (blood thinner) clinic.
Practicing with Dr. Weiner are nurse practitioners Alex Walker, ANP, APN-BC, and Jeffrey Young Jr., FNP, APN-BC.
The Skyline Cardiovascular Institute is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
