Alexander Alperovich, M.D.
After two years of practicing in the Jackson area, Dr. Alexander Alperovich opened Advanced Cardiovascular and Vein Center in January 2010. The clinic, at 172 West University Parkway, Suite A, is in Waynesworth Park, across the street from the north Jackson Post Office.
Dr. Alperovich is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He specializes in peripheral vascular disease and interventional cardiology, which includes angioplasty, implanting pacemakers and defibrillators, stent placement and general heart disease prevention.
The vein center will treat diseases of the veins, including varicose veins, ischemic limb salvage, deep vein thrombosis and non-healing ulcers. The clinic also does basic labwork and heart testing, such as EKGs, nuclear stress, echo and ultrasound.
Dr. Alperovich is involved in clinical research, participating in drug and interventional studies, which involve new medications, devices and cardiovascular technologies.
He graduated from Kaunas University School of Medicine in Lithuania. He completed an internal medicine residency and a cardiovascular fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. His interventional cardiology fellowship was at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Before coming to Jackson, he was co-founder of a cardiology practice in Orlando.
